How long can players expect the game to be down for maintenance, and will there be a Primogem award for the downtime?
Players eager to jump into the Midsummer Adventure with Klee, Jean, and Barbara will need to know the following details.
Genshin Impact 1.6 will go down for maintenance on Wednesday, June 8, 2021, at 6 p.m. EST/11 p.m. BST.
Once this happens, the game will be unavailable for several hours as miHoYo performs server maintenance.
This should take no longer than five hours.
Players will be awarded 60 Primogems for every hour the server is down, meaning a five-hour downtime will earn 300 Primogems.
Genshin Impact has generally been very generous, awarding 300 Primogems even if maintenance takes less than 5 hours.

Genshin Impact 1.6 is the game’s Midsummer Island Adventure update, which basically means it is Klee’s summer vacation.
A new area will be added to the map with new events, weapons, character skins for Jean and Barbara, new bosses, and a new character, Kazuha.
The first Character Event Banner for Genshin Impact 1.6 will be for Klee, Fischl, Barbara, and Sucrose.
The second Character Event Banner will feature Kazuha and three 4-Star characters that have not been confirmed yet.
One of the new events will feature a boat that players can navigate around the waters of the new archipelago, firing at hilichurl towers in order to take them down.
Another event, Echoing Tides, will give players a chance to earn Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle outfit.
There will also be a new weapon obtainable by an in-game event, the 4-Star Catalyst Dodoco Tales, an item tailored for Klee.
