Square Enix has now seemingly confirmed the launch date for its upcoming mobile title, Nier Reincarnation. According to IGN, the launch for the US version of Nier Reincarnation will happen in July.
The game was released in Japan in February of this year, followed by pre-registration in the US a couple of months later. It was also recently available in the US in a closed beta, and is now making its way toward a full blown release within the region.
Though the game is part of the Nier franchise, it’s not tied to the stories of the series’ most popular titles, Nier Replicant and Nier Automata.
The official release date of the game is set for July 28, so there are still a few more weeks before things will be finalized.
The story of Nier Reincarnation follows a girl (the Girl of Light) who wakes up in a strange land she is unfamiliar with. With no idea where she is and no memories, you must guide the girl and her new companion (a ghost named Mama) through this world to find out more about her situation.
Throughout the game you help the girl regain her lost memories and engage in a series of battles against unknown threats. One of those being a wandering enemy called the Dark Monster.
Combat plays out a lot like the battles in Mobius Final Fantasy. Another mobile title that was available on Android and iOS for around five years before being pulled offline back in June of 2020.
As is per usual, Square Enix has opened pre-registration for potential players on both Android and iOS. It’s also giving out rewards for players that sign up for the game on their respective platforms.
The current rewards will include a stack of the game’s currency called gems. And more rewards will be piled on for players at every new tier for pre-registrations. Which is set at every 100,000 new players.
Square Enix doesn’t appear to list what future rewards will be. But once each reward tier is met, every player who pre-registered will get those rewards once the game goes live at the end of next month.
